Can you have pcos with normal hormone levels?

Told I have PCOS based on an ultrasound, but all my hormone blood tests, like testosterone and LH/FSH ratios, came back completely normal. How is it possible to have PCOS if my hormone levels are not showing any abnormalities?

I am new to this and my blood test reports came back normal, but I still have irregular periods and acne. Can you really have PCOS if the lab reports show everything is in the normal range? I am feeling a bit confused about what to ask my doctor next.

Yes, absolutely. Hormone levels fluctuate daily, so a single blood test might show normal results while you still meet other criteria like cystic ovaries or irregular cycles. Stop trying to decode laboratory ranges yourself and let a senior endocrinologist evaluate your overall symptoms.

It is so incredibly frustrating when you feel all the physical symptoms of PCOS but your reports keep coming back normal, making you feel like it's all in your head. I cried so many times after seeing 'normal' reports while struggling with hair fall and weight gain. Your feelings are valid, please don't lose hope.

Even if your basic hormone levels look normal on paper, eating a clean vegetarian diet rich in fiber and low in processed sugars is highly beneficial. Focus on keeping your insulin stable with foods like oats, green vegetables, and lentils. This helps manage the internal symptoms regardless of lab numbers.

I always overanalyze every single blood report and get so anxious when my symptoms don't match the lab numbers. Maybe the tests were done on the wrong day of your cycle? It is best to stay calm, write down all your symptoms on a paper, and discuss them step-by-step with your doctor.

Please don't assume you are fine just because one blood test showed normal hormone levels. I made that mistake, ignored my skipped periods, and later faced severe complications with my uterine lining. You must consult an experienced gynecologist and get a proper pelvic ultrasound done.
