Can you have pcos after a hysterectomy?

A full hysterectomy a few years ago due to fibroids means I no longer have a uterus. However, I'm still struggling with issues like excessive facial hair and weight gain, which remind me of PCOS. Can someone still have PCOS or its symptoms even after a hysterectomy?

Honestly, I thought removing the uterus would solve all my life's problems, but our hormones have their own daily soap opera going on. If your ovaries are still inside, they can still act up and produce excess male hormones. Life is never simple, is it? Just get your hormone levels checked by a good gynac.

Stay calm and keep your mind peaceful, dear. Our bodies go through so many changes after such big surgeries, and it takes time to find balance. Focus on deep breathing and eating clean, natural foods. With time, proper guidance from your doctor, and a positive heart, everything will settle down.

I had my surgery last year but I am still struggling with crazy mood swings and sudden weight gain. Is anyone else here facing the same issues even after their uterus was removed? It is so confusing because I thought this surgery would end all my PCOS symptoms, but the struggle feels exactly the same.

Didi, please don't take stress, everything will be fine. Many women in our village also face hormonal trouble even after their big operations. Just drink warm water, eat fresh green vegetables from the market, and go see your doctor in the city for a proper checkup.

I am also trying to understand this because my aunt is going through something similar. If the uterus is removed, does the insulin resistance of PCOS also continue like before? Please if anyone has more details on how to manage this, do share. I want to help my aunt feel better.

Don't fall for random WhatsApp messages or herbal drinks that claim to cure hormonal issues after surgery. PCOS is basically an endocrine and metabolic issue, not just a uterine one, so surgery doesn't automatically erase it if your ovaries are intact. Talk to a proper endocrinologist rather than trying random internet tips.

Yes, this is very true because PCOS is actually a metabolic disorder of the ovaries and insulin system, not the uterus. I highly suggest getting an ultrasound of your ovaries and a fasting insulin test done.
