Can you have ovarian cysts without pcos?

My gynaecologist mentioned I have a small cyst, but also said my hormones seem okay and I don't have other PCOS symptoms. I'm a bit confused, can you really have one without the other? I thought they always went hand-in-hand.

Yes, you can. I ignored a sharp pelvic pain thinking it was just a regular cyst, but it grew quite big and needed surgery. Please get an ultrasound done to be safe.

Actually yaar, yes! You can get a simple ovarian cyst that just comes and goes with your monthly cycle, which is totally different from having PCOS. Don't stress out unnecessarily.

Yes, normal functional cysts are very common and often dissolve on their own. Just get a basic ultrasound at a local lab to see the size, and show the report to your family doctor.

Yes, you can have isolated cysts without the hormonal syndrome of PCOS. However, any persistent pelvic discomfort should be evaluated by a gynecologist to rule out any complications.

In my younger days, I had a couple of small cysts that my doctor said were just part of my regular ovulation cycle. They disappeared on their own without any treatment, so try not to worry too much.
