Can you have night sweats without a fever?

For the past few weeks, I've been waking up completely drenched in sweat at night, but I don't feel feverish or sick otherwise. It's really disturbing my sleep. Can night sweats happen even if you don't have a fever?

I get this quite often right before my periods start, even when the AC is on. Hormonal fluctuations can really mess with your body temperature. Try wearing breathable cotton clothes and keep a glass of water on your bedside table.

Yes, my son used to wake up completely drenched in sweat with no fever at all. We changed his heavy pajamas to light cotton and got his thyroid checked, which turned out to be the issue. Try tracking when it happens and consult their pediatrician.

Haan na, I also face this sometimes during heavy summers or when I eat very spicy food at night. It is quite common, but if it is happening daily, then we should definitely ask a doctor, ho na.

I totally get it, waking up all wet and cold in the middle of the night is so uncomfortable and unsettling. It used to happen to me during high-stress phases at work. Please take care and try to get some peaceful rest.

Excess heat or 'pitta' in the body often causes nighttime sweating without a fever. Doing Sheetali pranayama before sleeping and eating a light, non-spicy dinner helped me find relief from this imbalance.

I used to get severe night sweats without any fever a couple of years back. In my case, it resolved completely after my doctor adjusted my regular blood pressure medication.

It is so scary when you wake up sweating and immediately think the worst. I went through a phase of panic over this, but it turned out to be just severe anxiety and bad sleep posture. Your feelings are valid, but a simple doctor visit will ease your mind.
