Can you have hg without vomiting?

I'm pregnant and feeling incredibly nauseous all day, every day, but I'm not actually vomiting much. Can someone have Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) without vomiting, just extreme nausea?

Haan na, actually hyperemesis gravidarum main vomiting hona sabse common hai, par kuch women ko extreme, non-stop nausea hota hai jisse woh kuch kha-pi nahi paati. Agar severe weakness lag rahi hai toh doctor ko dikhana hi chahiye, ho na.

In our days, we saw some girls who didn't throw up much but felt so intensely sick and dehydrated that they couldn't even stand. If you are unable to eat or drink anything due to extreme nausea, please don't suffer silently and consult your lady doctor.

Yes, severe and debilitating nausea that prevents you from keeping any nutrition down can still be a form of severe pregnancy sickness. Try small sips of dry ginger water or eating a dry biscuit before leaving the bed, but definitely consult your doctor for proper medical support.

I am feeling so incredibly nauseous 24/7 that I can't even drink water, but I am not actually vomiting. Could this still be a severe issue like HG? Did anyone else experience this extreme sickness without actually throwing up?

Yes, I had this terrible dry-heaving and constant nausea where my stomach was completely empty but I couldn't vomit. It was so exhausting and painful. Please talk to your gynecologist, they can give safe medications to help you feel better.

By definition, HG usually involves severe, persistent vomiting. However, if there is relentless, severe nausea that leads to weight loss and dehydration, it still needs serious medical attention. Get in touch with your obstetrician immediately.

While classical Hyperemesis Gravidarum is characterized by intractable vomiting, severe refractory nausea that compromises hydration and caloric intake is equally serious. A clinical evaluation is essential to manage electrolyte balance safely.
