Can you have hand foot and mouth without a fever?

My child has developed some small red spots on her hands and feet, and inside her mouth, which looks like hand, foot, and mouth disease. However, she doesn't have a fever at all, and usually, that's one of the first signs. Is it possible to have Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease without a fever?

Yes, absolutely! I panicked so much when my daughter got little red spots on her palms and soles without any fever, thinking it was some dangerous allergic reaction. But the doctor reassured us that mild cases of HFMD can happen completely without fever.

Haan beta, hamare pados mein ek bache ko hua tha aur use bilkul bukhar nahi tha, bas haath-pairon mein chhote daane ho gaye the. Aap chinta mat karo, bas bache ko thanda khana do aur doctor babu ko ek baar dikha lo.

My mother suggested giving cooling foods thinking it was just heat rashes, but our pediatrician confirmed it was HFMD even though there was no fever. It is quite common for children to just get the blisters. Keep the child hydrated and consult your doctor for soothing lotions.

Yes, it is definitely possible to have HFMD without a fever. Just watch the spots and make sure the child is comfortable and drinking enough liquids.

Don't assume it's harmless or try home remedies just because there's no fever. HFMD is highly contagious and can present differently in every child. Please verify the diagnosis with a qualified pediatrician to get the correct management plan.
