Can you have good oxygen levels with asthma?

I have asthma, and sometimes I feel a bit breathless, but when I check my oxygen levels with a pulse oximeter, they look fine. This confuses me. Is it possible to have asthma symptoms and still maintain good oxygen levels?

Yes, you can absolutely have normal oxygen saturation even during a mild asthma flare-up. I go to a specialist at a major hospital, and they always emphasize that you shouldn't rely solely on a pulse oximeter. If you are struggling to breathe, you must consult your doctor immediately regardless of what the machine says.

Yes, indeed. During normal times, many asthmatics maintain perfect oxygen levels. Doing very gentle, deep breathing exercises like Anulom Vilom has personally helped me keep my lung capacity good, but please always keep your inhaler handy as prescribed by your doctor.

Haan babuji, asthma mein oxygen level bilkul theek dikha sakta hai par andar se saans lene mein takleef bani rehti hai. Hamare yahan doctor sahab kehte hain ki sirf machine pe bharosa mat karo, agar seene mein jhagran ho toh turant dawai lo.

Yes, you can have stable oxygen levels with asthma. Just like managing my thyroid, keeping chronic conditions in check requires regular checkups with your doctor and monitoring your lung function tests rather than just checking oxygen at home.

Yes, normal oxygen levels are common in mild or controlled asthma. Keep your house free from dust and use a wet cloth for cleaning instead of dry sweeping to avoid triggers. If you ever feel tight in the chest, use your prescribed spacer and inhaler right away.

Hey, don't stress too much! It is actually super common for asthma patients to have perfect oxygen readings on the oximeter even when they feel a bit breathless. Just take your regular medication as advised and stay away from cold drinks if they trigger you.

Absolutely, oxygen saturation levels often remain normal during mild to moderate asthma symptoms because the body compensates. However, relying only on oximetry can be misleading during a severe attack. It is always best to follow your pulmonologist's action plan strictly.

My pulse oximeter happily shows 98% even when I am wheezing like an old pressure cooker. So yes, you can definitely have great oxygen levels while still struggling to catch your breath. Don't let the numbers fool you, keep your doctor's number on speed dial.
