Can you have gastroenteritis without diarrhea and vomiting?

I've been having some stomach issues, like general discomfort and a bit of nausea, but I haven't experienced any vomiting or diarrhea. Usually, when someone says they have gastroenteritis, these are the main symptoms. Can you get gastro without having either diarrhea or vomiting?

Honestly, with my hormonal issues, my digestion is already a bit unpredictable, but I think gastroenteritis usually involves at least one of those symptoms. However, you could just have intense nausea, bloating, and severe stomach pain instead. It's always safer to check with a doctor to see what is actually causing the discomfort.

If you don't have diarrhea or vomiting, it might just be severe acidity, gas, or mild food poisoning. Try drinking warm water and eating very light meals like oats or khichdi for a day. If the pain is sharp or doesn't go away, go to a local clinic and get checked.

It is quite rare to have stomach flu without those two main symptoms, but sometimes you just get bad cramps and a mild fever instead! Make sure to take lots of rest and drink light warm soups to feel better soon.

Sometimes stomach issues are linked to other underlying things, like how my thyroid fluctuations affect my gut motility. If you are experiencing stomach pain without the typical flu symptoms, it might be something else entirely. It is best to consult a doctor and maybe get some routine blood tests done to be sure.

I had a phase where my stomach was just burning and cramping terribly, but there was no vomiting or loose motions. The doctor told me it was a mild gut infection combined with acidity. Warm ginger tea helped calm my stomach, but definitely get a professional opinion if it persists.
