Can you have fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis?

I've been dealing with widespread body pain and stiffness for years, and my doctor suspects fibromyalgia. My sister has rheumatoid arthritis, and sometimes I wonder if I could have both. Is it possible for a person to be diagnosed with both fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis?

Yes, they can definitely co-exist. I use a health tracking app to monitor sleep cycles and daily pain levels for my mother, who has both. Tracking shows that low-impact movement and consistent sleep help manage the overlap of muscle pain and joint stiffness.

Yes, you can have both, and it is a very painful combination. Instead of spending on fancy therapies, make sure to keep your joints warm, sleep on a supportive mattress, and do very gentle stretching every single morning to reduce the stiffness.

My aunt has been dealing with this dual diagnosis for five years. She finds that her rheumatoid arthritis is managed well with her doctor's prescriptions, while her fibromyalgia pain responds better to hot water fermentation, meditation, and keeping stress low.
