Can you have dry socket without pain?

I had a tooth extracted a few days ago, and I'm really worried about getting a dry socket because I heard it's extremely painful. I don't have much pain, but I'm still anxious. Can you actually get a dry socket without experiencing a lot of pain?

Stay positive and take gentle care of yourself. Usually, a dry socket is known for being quite painful, but sometimes the healing process varies for everyone and pain levels can be very low. Just trust your body, keep the area clean, and let your dentist have a look to be safe.

Actually yaar, dry socket is famous for that horrible, radiating pain that keeps you awake. If you don't have any pain, it might just be normal healing looking a bit weird to you. But don't take a chance, just call your dentist and ask once.

I am so scared of dental stuff. I had an extraction three days ago and I can see a dark hole, but it doesn't hurt at all. Does dry socket always have to hurt badly, or can it sometimes just heal silently like this?

I am not an expert, but from what I have read during my own dental visits, dry socket almost always comes with severe pain. Since my body reacts sensitively to inflammation because of PCOS, I always prefer calling my doctor even for small doubts. Please consider checking with your dentist.

Usually, dry socket causes very sharp pain. You can gently rinse your mouth with warm salt water to keep the extraction site clean and free of food particles. But if you suspect the clot has dislodged, please go to your dentist rather than waiting for pain to start.

When I got my wisdom tooth pulled, I was terrified of dry socket. My dentist told me that if the blood clot is gone, intense pain is the main symptom because the bone gets exposed. Since I didn't have pain, it turned out to be just empty-looking but normal healing.
