Can you have chills without a fever when sick?

I'm feeling a bit under the weather, like a cold is coming on, and I'm definitely having chills. The strange thing is, I've checked my temperature multiple times, and I don't have a fever. So, can you actually be sick and still get chills without a fever?

Oh God, I get so paranoid when this happens to me because you feel so cold but the thermometer shows nothing! Yes, it can happen when your immune system is just starting to fight something. Please keep monitoring yourself so you don't panic.

I am experiencing this today and was quite confused. Can we still take basic paracetamol if there is no actual fever but we have heavy chills? I'm not really sure how to handle this.

Hey, relax, yes, it happens. Sometimes your body is fighting a mild infection but the temperature hasn't spiked yet. Just wrap yourself up, drink some warm tulsi water, and if it doesn't get better by tomorrow, we will go see a doctor, okay?

Don't stress too much, yaar! It is totally normal to get chills without a fever when your body is just exhausted or dealing with a simple cold. Get some solid sleep and drink hot ginger tea.

In our times, we called this 'bheetar ki sardi' (internal cold). Yes, you can feel shivers without a fever. Drink warm milk with a pinch of turmeric and dry ginger, and keep your chest covered from cold air.

I know how unsettling it is to feel shivering cold while everyone else in the room is fine. Yes, chills without fever are a real thing when you are run down. Validate what you are feeling, rest up, and consult a doctor if it makes you feel safer.

Yes, you can certainly experience chills without an elevated body temperature during an illness. It usually points to your body's initial immune response or fatigue. However, if this persists, a professional medical opinion is always the safest route.
