Can you have bursitis and arthritis at the same time?

My shoulder pain was diagnosed as bursitis, but now my knees are also hurting and feeling very stiff, like my arthritis. Is it possible to have both bursitis and arthritis at the same time?

Yes, you can have both in the same joint. I went to a major hospital for my shoulder pain and the orthopedist clearly explained how arthritis wears down the joint while bursitis inflames the fluid sac. Make sure you ask your doctor to explain the difference in your treatment.

Don't worry too much, it sounds painful but it is actually quite common to have both together. Rest the joint as much as possible and apply cold compresses when it swells. We will get you through this pain.

Dealing with both can really slow down your work day. If you have a desk job, set up an ergonomic chair and take regular breaks to stretch, because keeping the joint static makes the pain of both conditions much worse.

Yes, they can coexist. I track my daily pain levels and physical activity on a health app, which helps me see if my joint pain is from bone stiffness (arthritis) or tendon swelling (bursitis) after workouts. Sharing this data with my physio has been super helpful.

Yes, you can definitely have both! It just means your joints need a little extra love and care. Stay positive and follow your doctor's advice carefully.

At my age, these joint problems are very common. Applying a warm mustard oil massage gently can soothe the stiff muscles around the joint, but make sure you do not apply too much pressure on the painful area.

My teenage daughter developed juvenile arthritis and then bursitis from swimming. It was heartbreaking to see her in pain, but regular physical therapy and ice packs made a huge difference. Please look into physiotherapy.

Haan yaar, dono ho sakta hai ek sath. Joint pain to vaise hi pareshan karta hai, aur bursitis se swelling aur badh jati hai na. Better hai doctor ko dikha lo aur bilkul heavy weight mat uthana abhi.
