Can you have both fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis?

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few years ago, and now my joints are starting to swell up and hurt a lot, like my mother's rheumatoid arthritis. Can a person have both fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis?

I can only speak from my own journey, but I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis first, and later my doctor added fibromyalgia to my chart because of the widespread muscle pain. It is a challenging combination, but managing it day by day is the only way.

Yes, you can absolutely have both, and it must be incredibly exhausting for you. My aunt has this and she focuses heavily on gentle stretching and pacing her daily chores so she doesn't get overwhelmed by fatigue.

It is definitely possible to have both. Please take care of yourself and don't hesitate to ask your family for help on your bad pain days.

I kept ignoring my joint stiffness thinking it was just work stress, and it delayed my RA diagnosis by years, causing joint damage. If you suspect you have either or both, please see a rheumatologist immediately for proper blood tests.

Haan, hamare pados me ek behan ko dono bimari hai. Bahut dard hota hai unko par woh himmat nahi haarti. Aap achhe sheher ke doctor ko dikhao, aaram milega.

Having both causes a lot of body pain. Drinking warm milk with a pinch of pure turmeric at night can help soothe the body slightly, but you must keep taking the modern medicines prescribed by your rheumatologist.

Many people in our support group deal with this dual diagnosis. While RA is inflammatory and affects the joints, fibromyalgia is about how your brain processes pain signals. Working closely with a good specialist to balance medicines for both is very important.
