Can you have asthma without wheezing?

My chest feels tight sometimes, and I cough quite a bit, but I've never really heard myself wheeze. A relative told me it could still be asthma. Is it possible to have asthma without wheezing?

Honestly this has been my biggest worry lately. I just get this tight feeling in my chest and a dry cough, but zero wheezing sound. Has anyone else experienced this because it makes me feel like I am imagining things?

Please do not ignore this just because you don't hear a wheeze. I kept dismissing my persistent dry cough as normal dust allergy until it turned into a severe breathlessness attack one night. Go to a pulmonologist and get a proper diagnosis done early.

Actually yes, you can totally have asthma without that classic whistling sound, yaar. It is called cough variant asthma sometimes. Better to get a spirometry test done rather than guessing at home, seriously.

My husband has a similar issue where his chest just gets heavy during changing weather. Keep your rooms dust-free and note down exactly when you feel breathless to tell the doctor. A simple inhaler prescribed by a good doc makes life very easy.

Look boss, asthma doesn't always come with a siren. Sometimes it is just a constant irritating cough or tightness. Stop reading things online and just visit a chest specialist this week to get it sorted.

I used to get very breathless during my morning walks without any wheezing sound at all. My doctor confirmed it was exercise-induced asthma and adjusted my routine. Now I do light walks after using my prescribed spray and it keeps me fit.

Yes, it is definitely possible. I track my oxygen levels and heart rate on my smartwatch when my chest feels tight, and even without wheezing, my lung capacity readings sometimes drop. Highly recommend tracking your daily symptoms on an app so you have data to show your doctor.
