Can you have an ear infection without a fever?

My daughter has been pulling at her ear and seems a bit irritable, but she doesn't have a temperature. Can she have an ear infection without a fever?

Yes, definitely. I have had fluid build-up behind the eardrum multiple times without any fever, just a clogged feeling and mild pain. My tip is to avoid putting any oil or random ear drops in your ear and see an ENT specialist for a proper look.

I have been having a dull ache in my left ear and some fluid blockage for two days, but absolutely no fever. Has anyone else had an ear infection like this? I'm worried it might get worse suddenly.

Yes, it is possible. When my immunity was low due to thyroid fluctuations, I got a mild ear infection with zero fever, just a blocked feeling. Please follow up with your doctor and get a proper diagnosis instead of self-medicating.

Haan na, ear infection bina fever ke bhi ho jata hai, sirf itching aur thoda heavy lagta hai ear me. Mere bete ko bhi aisa hi hua tha, doctor ne bola ki clean rakhna zaroori hai, ho na? Do get it checked.

Yes, you can have a mild ear infection without a fever, sometimes it's just due to water getting trapped after a shower. Since our bodies can react differently, it's always safest to have an ENT doctor take a quick look to avoid any eardrum damage.
