Can you have a stroke with low blood pressure?

I've always had naturally low blood pressure, so I usually worry more about fainting. But then I heard about a rare type of stroke related to low BP. Can a person actually have a stroke when their blood pressure is on the lower side?

I didn't know this was possible, as I always thought only high BP causes strokes. My mother has low BP quite often and gets very dizzy. Does that mean she is also at risk, or is it different?

Haan na, low blood pressure can also reduce blood flow to the brain, which can cause a stroke. People think only high BP is bad, but extreme low BP is also dangerous, ho na? We must monitor both.

Haan yaar, low blood pressure se hypoperfusion ho sakti hai, meaning brain tak oxygen nahi pahunchta. Toh risk toh rehta hi hai na. Checkup karwate raho regular interval pe.

I panicked so much when my BP dropped to 90/60 last month and searched the internet frantically. My doctor reassured me that transient low BP from dehydration is very common and rarely leads to strokes unless there is severe shock or heart disease. Keep drinking fluids, you will be fine!

Honestly, reading all this at 2 AM is not helping my low BP or my sleep. But yes, poor blood circulation can cause issues. I should probably close my phone, drink some ORS water, and try to sleep.

Any sudden drop in blood pressure accompanied by confusion or weakness must not be ignored. It is extremely critical to get it checked by a specialist immediately to rule out any serious complications.

I completely understand how stressful it is to read about these things when you already feel unwell. Health anxiety makes every symptom feel like an emergency. Take a deep breath, and let a qualified doctor do the evaluation instead of worrying yourself.
