Can you have a heart attack while sleeping?

Lately, I've been reading a lot about heart health and it's making me a bit anxious. Is it possible for a person to experience a heart attack while they are sleeping? I've heard such stories and it sounds scary.

This thought literally keeps me awake at night. Has anyone else felt sudden heavy chest vibrations or breathlessness just as you are falling asleep? I am always terrified that it might be a silent heart issue starting while I sleep.

Please do not ignore this possibility. I once ignored heavy sweating and choking during sleep, thinking it was just a bad dream and acidity. It turned out to be a mild cardiac event, and I regret waiting so long before going to the clinic. Please get a proper ECG and Eco done.

Look, straight talk, yes it can happen. People die in their sleep because of cardiac arrest and attacks all the time. Instead of worrying and searching online, go to a good cardiologist, do your blood tests, and fix your sleeping schedule.

Beta, heart attacks during the early morning hours are quite common according to what we have seen over the years. Before sleeping, avoid drinking too much heavy water or heavy food. Have a simple cup of warm milk with a pinch of turmeric, keep your mind free of worries, and pray before sleeping.

I totally get it, the thought of having a heart attack while sleeping is extremely scary to think about. It is indeed possible, especially for people with undiagnosed sleep apnea. Please take care of your health and don't hesitate to consult a doctor if you are feeling uneasy.

Yes, sleep time attacks are possible, often due to high blood pressure levels spiking in the early morning. I suggest doing 10 minutes of deep, gentle anulom vilom pranayama before sleeping. It calms the nervous system and keeps the heart rhythm steady through the night.

It can happen, and sometimes endocrine issues like thyroid can also put pressure on your heart. My doctor always insists on regular blood checks because hormone imbalances silently affect heart rate at night. Please schedule regular follow-ups with a specialist to stay safe.

Oh man, this is scary because I love my late-night cheese parathas and heavy biryani cravings. But honestly, sleeping right after eating junk food increases the risk of acid reflux which mimics chest pain, or worse, strains the heart. Time to cut down on night food parties, I guess!
