Can you have a heart attack on blood thinners?

I've been on blood thinners for the past two years due to a clotting issue. My doctor said it reduces risk, but I still worry, na? Can a heart attack still happen even when someone is taking these medicines regularly?

I was actually reading up on this yesterday online. It seems blood thinners only stop certain types of clots from forming, but they can't stop an attack caused by plaque rupture or sudden spasms. It's quite scary how complex the human heart is, honestly.

From what I have understood while managing my own PCOS issues, medications aren't a 100% guarantee. Blood thinners reduce the risk majorly, but they cannot fully stop a heart attack if other lifestyle factors or blockages are very severe. It is always better to be cautious and not fully rely just on the pills.

I am so sorry, I don't know much about this, but my grandmother was recently put on these thinners and now I am feeling very anxious. Does it mean she is still in danger? Should we get her heart checked again even if she is taking her daily medicines?

Yes, my dear, medicine alone cannot do everything if our stress levels are sky-high. I have seen people on heavy cardiac medicines still get attacks. Along with the thinners prescribed by your doctor, practicing gentle breathing exercises like pranayama daily helps a lot to keep blood pressure and mind calm.

Hey, don't stress too much about this, okay? Yes, theoretically it can happen because medicines aren't foolproof shields, but thinners cut down the risk by a huge margin. Just ensure whoever is taking them does not skip their doses and stays relaxed.

Haan bilkul ho sakta hai, safety guarantee thodi na milti hai medicines se. Thinners blood flow easy karte hain, par agar blockage bahut jyada hai toh risk rehta hi hai. Isliye doctor ki advice follow karo aur diet pe thoda control rakho.

My cardiologist clearly explained this to me last month when my father started ecosprin. He said thinners prevent new clots, but if there is already a critical blockage of 90% or more, an attack can still happen under severe physical or mental stress. We must keep monitoring cholesterol levels and never miss the medical follow-ups.
