Can you have a heart attack at 25?

My colleague, who's only 25, recently had a scare with chest pain that turned out to be a panic attack, but it made us all very aware. Are heart attacks something that can happen even at the age of 25?

While 25 is very young, it is medically possible, especially if there are underlying genetic conditions or severe blockages. I had a relative who had a heart episode young because of an undiagnosed issue, so please don't ignore sharp chest pain. Go to a cardiologist and get an ECG done to be safe.

At 25, a heart attack is extremely rare, but if you have diabetic tendencies or a high-sugar lifestyle, it can affect your blood vessels early. I always monitor my sugar levels closely as high glucose can strain the heart over time. If you feel any chest discomfort, get a proper blood test and consult a doctor.

I am 25 too and I totally understand how scary these thoughts can be when you read things online. Most of the time, our chest pain is just muscle tightness from bad posture or stress. Try to stay calm, but definitely visit a doctor if you feel continuous pain or breathlessness.

Yaar, at 25, my biggest worry is usually the chest burn after eating extra spicy street food. While it is almost always acidity, we should definitely try to balance our diet and not ignore persistent pain. If a light walk and water don't help the discomfort, better to get it checked by a doc.

I was actually reading up on young cardiac arrests recently because of all the news articles. Apparently, at 25, it is highly unusual unless there is some congenital heart defect. It is still a good idea to know the basic symptoms like sweating and chest pressure just to be aware.
