Can you hallucinate from sleep deprivation?

I've been really struggling with insomnia for the past few weeks, barely getting 3-4 hours of sleep a night. Sometimes, I feel like I see shadows moving or hear muffled sounds that aren't there. Is it possible that sleep deprivation is making me hallucinate?

Absolutely, severe lack of sleep causes immense physical stress, which can trigger hallucinations and even spike your blood pressure. I had to strictly correct my sleep habits to keep my BP under control. Please get a proper medical checkup if your insomnia is chronic.

Hormonal imbalances like thyroid issues can drastically affect your sleep patterns and cause severe fatigue. If sleep deprivation is leading to hallucinations, it is a sign of extreme strain. You should definitely get your blood levels checked and consult a doctor.

Actually, yes yaar. During my engineering exams, I pulled three consecutive all-nighters and started seeing weird shadows on the wall. It was super creepy but it's just the brain glitching due to no rest. Just crash and sleep, you'll be fine.

Yes, sleep deprivation can cause your mind to play tricks on you. While lifestyle and a clean diet can help improve sleep quality, severe symptoms like hallucinations mean you need immediate rest. Speak to a doctor if you are struggling to sleep naturally.

In my decades of working long hours, I have seen that the human body cannot go without rest indefinitely. Hallucinating is simply a warning sign from your brain that it needs to shut down. Do not ignore this, get some proper sleep and take care of your health.

Between work deadlines and family, sleep often takes a back seat, but hallucinating is a major red flag. If your workload is causing this, you need to manage your time better and prioritize rest. Consult a specialist if it's a medical sleep disorder.
