Can you go to sleep after a concussion?

Hit my head pretty hard playing cricket yesterday, and now I have a bad headache. My friends told me not to sleep after a head injury because it's dangerous. Is it true that you shouldn't go to sleep after getting a concussion?

Honestly, this is so scary when it happens. My cousin had a bad fall last year and we were terrified to let him sleep. But the doctor told us that sleep is actually fine as long as they can be easily woken up and are not showing major red flags like vomiting or severe confusion. Just keep an eye on them every few hours.

Any head injury is nothing to play with, especially if you have other health issues like high BP like I do. It is always best to get a proper checkup at the hospital first before deciding to just sleep it off. Your doctor might want to do a quick scan to make sure everything is completely fine inside.

At my age, even getting out of bed feels like a mild injury, but a concussion is a different ball game altogether. Don't just go to sleep hoping for the best because that's what we did in the 80s. Get a doctor to evaluate you first so you don't wake up with a worse headache than my daily ones.

My son got a concussion during football practice last term and I was panicking so much. The pediatrician told us that sleeping is actually good for brain recovery, but we had to wake him up every 2 to 3 hours just to check if he was responding normally. Don't let them sleep without getting a doctor's green light first though.

Haan, sleep is actually needed for recovery but direct bed pe mat jao na. First, visit a doc and make sure there is no internal swelling or anything serious. Once the doctor says everything is sorted, then you can sleep peacefully at home.

A dark, quiet room with zero screen time is the best way to let the brain rest. But please don't rely on home tricks or sleep if there is any vomiting, severe headache, or dizziness. Go straight to the clinic and get a doctor to check them out first for safety.

I can barely stay awake on a normal day, but if I hit my head that hard, I'd definitely get it checked before passing out. Sleeping is crucial for healing, but you want to make sure it's actual recovery sleep and not something serious. Call your doctor first so you can rest peacefully without friends shaking you awake every hour.
