Can you go skydiving with asthma?
My friends are planning a skydiving trip, and I really want to join them for the experience. I have mild asthma, and sometimes I use an inhaler. Is it safe or even allowed for someone with asthma to go skydiving?

I have mild asthma and did a tandem jump in Dubai last year. The sudden rush of cold air and adrenaline can sometimes trigger tightness, so I took a puff of my preventer inhaler right before boarding. Make sure your instructor knows about your condition and you carry your emergency inhaler.
Skydiving centers usually require you to sign a health declaration form, and asthma is definitely on that list. If you have active or severe asthma, they might ask for a doctor's fitness certificate. It is always wise to get cleared by your pulmonologist first.

The rapid change in altitude and thin air can make breathing very difficult during freefall. You must consult your doctor and get a lung function test done to see if your lungs can handle that kind of pressure safely. Please do not risk it.
As someone managing high blood pressure, I know how sudden adrenaline rushes can affect the body. Skydiving is extremely intense for both heart and lungs. Make sure to get a complete physical checkup, including your BP and lung capacity, before planning any such extreme sports.
