Can you get social security for asthma?

My asthma has become quite severe, and it's making it very difficult for me to work full-time. I'm exploring options for financial support. Does severe asthma qualify as a disability for social security benefits in India?

In India, we don't have the exact same 'Social Security' system as Western countries, but there are certain government disability benefits. When I visited my doctor at Apollo, they told me that severe, chronic respiratory issues might qualify under specific criteria. Ask your treating doctor clearly, they can guide you with the correct paperwork.

If you are asking about the US Social Security system, yes, severe asthma can qualify if you meet their strict lung function test criteria. But if you are in India, there is no direct monthly social security check for asthma unless it is a severe occupational lung disease. Check the official government portal for the exact rules instead of guessing.

Haan, agar severe level ka respiratory issue hai toh rules ke according schemes hoti hain, par normal asthma ke liye difficult hai na. Government offices mein iska checkup aur approval process kafi lamba hota hai. Ek baar kisi sarkari hospital ke doctor se consult karo, wahi sahi batayenge.

Hey, don't stress too much about the complicated legal side first. If you or someone you love has severe asthma, the priority should be getting the right treatment. For government aid or disability benefits, it completely depends on the severity of the lung damage, so talk to a government medical board doctor first.

Actually, I was just searching about health benefits for a family member. For international systems like US SSI, asthma is listed as a condition, but you have to prove it is so severe that you can't work at all. It is quite a complex legal process to get approved.

Hey buddy, don't stress too much about this right now! Unless the asthma is super extreme and stops you from doing any basic job, getting government benefits is a bit tough. Just focus on keeping your inhaler close, avoiding dust, and keeping yourself healthy, ok?

I am so sorry, I don't know much about this topic yet. My younger brother was recently diagnosed with chronic asthma and we are struggling with treatment costs. Does the government in India provide any discount on medicines or inhalers for students?
