Can you get pregnant without a thyroid gland?

After a surgery a few years ago, I no longer have a thyroid gland and rely on medication. My husband and I are discussing starting a family. I'm curious, is it possible to get pregnant without a thyroid gland?

Having PCOS has taught me that hormonal issues are tricky but manageable. Without a thyroid, you can definitely get pregnant, but you have to be very careful about your synthetic hormone dosage. Work closely with an endocrinologist to keep things stable.

Please don't listen to anyone selling herbal cures for this. Since you don't have the gland, only synthetic thyroid hormone tablets from a certified doctor can help you. Go verify your levels with a proper laboratory test first.

I always prefer going to a multispecialty hospital for these things because you get gynacs and endocrinologists under one roof. Yes, it is very possible to conceive, but you must ask your doctor clearly about the monthly monitoring required during pregnancy.

Man, my kids keep me awake all night, so thyroid or no thyroid, get ready for some sleep-deprived years! But seriously, my sister had her thyroid removed and she had two kids. She just had to take her morning medicine strictly on time.

Managing any internal health issue, whether BP or thyroid, requires a strict routine. You can get pregnant, but you must keep your thyroid levels in check. Regular checkups and keeping your weight and stress under control will make a big difference.
