Can you get piles from sitting on cold concrete?

My grandfather always used to tell us not to sit on cold surfaces, especially concrete, saying we would get piles. I've been experiencing some discomfort lately. Is it true, can you get piles from sitting on cold concrete?

Haha, my dadi used to tell me this whenever I sat on the college steps. Honestly, sitting on cold floors doesn't give you piles. It is mostly caused by constipation, straining too much in the washroom, or sitting in one place for too long.

Haan, these old myths are everywhere, na. Cold concrete doesn't cause piles, but sitting on hard surfaces for hours can put pressure on your veins. Try to use a cushion and drink plenty of water to avoid constipation.

No, son, sitting on cold stone doesn't cause this disease. Piles happen when our stomach is not clean and we have to strain. Eat fresh green vegetables, drink buttermilk, and don't sit in one spot for too long.

No way! That is just an old wives' tale! 😄 Piles are all about pressure in your lower rectal area, mostly due to digestion issues. Just stay hydrated and don't sit on any hard surface for too long!

I also panicked when I got symptoms and started searching if my cold room floor caused it. Actually, it is just about pressure and digestion. Once I started eating high-fiber foods and taking short walks, the discomfort completely disappeared.
