Can you get permanent dentures with gum disease?

My grandmother has severe gum disease and needs dentures, but the dentist said her gums are too unhealthy. She's really hoping for a permanent solution. Can you get permanent dentures with gum disease?

You must treat the gum disease first, otherwise any dental procedure can fail. Just like blood pressure needs monitoring before surgery, your gums must be healthy to support dentures. Get a thorough dental checkup done first.

From what my dentist told me during my implants, active gum disease is a big no-for any permanent dentures. It will ruin the bone structure underneath. Save your time and money by getting the infection treated first.

I am also looking into this for my mother. She has bleeding gums and needs new teeth. Do dentists do deep cleaning first to cure the gum disease before they can make the permanent dentures? Please let me know.

Please do not rush into getting dentures if you have gum issues. My uncle ignored his mild gum disease and got implants done, which led to a severe infection and bone loss. Please consult a senior periodontist first.

Since I have thyroid, my bone health is already weak and I have to be very careful with dental hygiene. Active gum disease destroys the bone support. Make sure you get regular blood tests and consult your dentist for a clear timeline.

Haan, raw infection can cause major trouble, na. Pehle gum treatment karwao, otherwise dentures lose ho jayenge block me pain hoga. Go to a good dentist and get the basic cleaning done first, health is priority.

I just finished my dental treatment last month. My gums were in terrible shape, and my dentist flatly refused dentures until we did scaling and laser treatment. Now my gums are healthy and my permanent dentures fit perfectly.

The short answer is no, not while the infection is active. Your jawbone needs to be strong to hold any denture or implant. Get the gums cured first, then your dentist will easily suggest the best permanent option for you.
