Can you get pcos after having kids?

I have two beautiful children and always thought PCOS was something that only affects younger women or those trying to conceive. Now, some friends are talking about adult-onset PCOS. Can you get PCOS even after having kids?

Yes, you can develop PCOS after pregnancy due to hormonal shifts and lifestyle changes. Focusing on strength training and eating a balanced, high-protein diet can really help manage the symptoms effectively.

Yes, postpartum hormonal changes can trigger PCOS even if you never had it before. I track my period cycles and symptoms on an app, which made it much easier to discuss the sudden changes with my doctor.

Yes, postpartum endocrine changes can trigger both PCOS and thyroid issues. I highly recommend getting a complete hormone panel and thyroid test done, and following up with your doctor for a proper plan.

I was diagnosed with PCOS two years after my daughter was born. I suddenly started gaining weight and losing hair, but with a clean diet and regular doctor follow-ups, my cycles are finally back on track.

I am actually trying to understand this because my periods got very irregular after my second baby. Can PCOS start suddenly like this, or is it just temporary postpartum thyroid issues?
