Can you get pain in your back from gas?

Lately, I've been experiencing a lot of bloating and gas, and coincidentally, I also have this nagging pain in my lower back. My mother-in-law says the two are connected. Can you get pain in your back from gas?

Yes, trapped gas in the colon can radiate pain to your lower or upper back. Try avoiding heavy lentils or raw salads at night, and drink warm ajwain water to help release the pressure naturally.

I totally get it, gas pain can be so severe that it actually feels like a bad back sprain or even something worse. It is incredibly uncomfortable, but walking around a bit usually helps release it.

Ah, the joys of getting older! One wrong meal and suddenly you can't bend down because gas decided to settle in your back. A cup of warm water and a short walk usually does the trick.

Yes, it is very common for gas to cause referred pain in the back. I use a symptom tracker app, and I always notice a direct link between bloating and lower back discomfort on days I sit too much.

Yes, slow digestion can lead to gas build-up which radiates to the back. Since I manage diabetes, I have to walk after meals to keep my sugar and digestion in check, which really helps prevent this.
