Can you get nauseous from lack of sleep?

My work schedule has been crazy lately, and I'm barely sleeping 4-5 hours a night. I've been feeling constantly queasy and nauseous, even when I eat properly. Could this nauseous feeling be from lack of sleep?

I feel so sick in my stomach every time I pull an all-nighter for exams. Does anyone else get this horrible, dizzy vomiting sensation, or should I be worried about something else?

Yes, it happens because fatigue messes with your metabolism. Since I have diabetes, I have to be very careful because nausea makes it hard to eat on time, so getting 7 hours of sleep is non-negotiable for me.

Yes, absolutely. Sleep deprivation disrupts your gut motility, leading to acid build-up and nausea. Fix your sleep cycle and the nausea will disappear on its own.

My physician explained that the autonomic nervous system gets overstimulated when you don't sleep, which directly triggers the stomach to feel nauseous. He advised staying hydrated and keeping a consistent sleep schedule to prevent this.

Yes, it is very common due to increased acidity from lack of rest. When on tight deadlines, I drink coconut water and avoid heavy caffeine on an empty stomach to manage this.
