Can you get malaria more than once?

Last year, I had a bad bout of malaria and it was really tough. My father said I'm immune now, but I heard from a friend that you can get it again. Can someone get malaria more than once?

Yes, you can get it multiple times because there are different strains of the parasite. I had a relapse that affected my liver, so please see a doctor immediately if you feel feverish again.

Yes, absolutely you can get it again. I ignored my fever the second time thinking I had immunity, and it got so bad I had to be hospitalized. Please get a blood test immediately if you have symptoms.

You can definitely get it again as there is no permanent immunity. When my son got fever twice in a year, we went to Max Hospital and the doctor clearly explained that different mosquito bites cause new infections. Ask your doctor for proper advice.

Yes, you can get it again. While drinking papaya leaf juice can help with platelets, malaria is serious and you must consult a doctor for proper medicine instead of just home remedies.

Haan bilkul, log sochte hain ek baar ho gaya toh immunity ban gayi, par aisa nahi hota na. Alag type ke parasites hote hain, toh dhyan rakhna padta hai.

Yes, getting malaria once does not protect you from getting it again. For your own safety, if you have any shivering or high fever, please get a blood test done right away.

Bro, yes you can. I got it twice within two years because our area has a lot of water logging. Don't assume you are safe just because you survived it once.
