Can you get kidney stones in both kidneys?

My brother has been suffering from kidney stones in his right kidney for a while now. He's worried if he might develop them in the other kidney too. Can you get kidney stones in both kidneys?

Yes, it is very much possible to get them in both kidneys, especially if your overall water intake is very low. A simple and cheap solution is to keep two copper bottles filled with water at home and make sure you finish them daily. It doesn't cost anything to stay hydrated.

Yes, unfortunately, your kidneys can sometimes work double shifts to produce stones in both sides! But don't worry too much, once you start drinking enough water, you can flush them out. Just treat it as a wake-up call to stay hydrated! 😄

Bilateral kidney stones are quite common if you have systemic metabolic issues. Along with drinking plenty of fluids, regular low-impact exercise like light jogging or brisk walking helps in natural stone passage and improves overall kidney function, if your doctor permits.

Yes, bilateral nephrolithiasis is a known medical condition where stones form in both kidneys simultaneously. It usually points to an underlying genetic or dietary issue. It is highly recommended to consult a urologist and get a metabolic evaluation done for an accurate diagnosis.

Haan na, my uncle had small stones in both kidneys at the same time and it was very uncomfortable, ho na. He had to take special Ayurvedic syrup and drink coconut water daily to dissolve them. Do get a proper sonography done first.

I was very shocked to hear this is possible. If someone has stones in both kidneys, does it mean they need two separate surgeries, or can it be treated with simple medicines? Please share if anyone has gone through this.
