Can you get hepatitis from oysters?

My family recently went on a trip and tried some seafood, including oysters. Someone at the restaurant warned about hepatitis. I'm curious, can you actually get hepatitis from eating oysters, especially if they're not properly cooked or fresh?

Yes, raw or undercooked shellfish like oysters can carry Hepatitis A if harvested from polluted waters. I track all my food and nutrition on an app, and we should always make sure seafood is fully cooked to kill these viruses.

I have to be very careful with my diet because of high blood pressure, and food safety is super important. Yes, infected seafood can cause Hepatitis A. Please make sure to get regular health checkups if you eat out often.

I had severe complications from food poisoning a few years ago that affected my liver. Oysters can definitely carry the Hepatitis A virus if they are raw. Please see a doctor immediately if you feel sick after eating them.

I once ignored mild stomach pain after eating seafood and it turned out to be a major liver infection that kept me bedridden for weeks. Don't repeat my mistake. If you suspect the food was bad, get a checkup done right away.

My doctor told me that filter-feeding shellfish like oysters can concentrate viral pathogens like Hepatitis A from contaminated water. Cooking them thoroughly is the only way to make them safe. If you have eaten raw ones and feel fatigued, do consult a doctor.
