Can you get hepatitis c from saliva?

My child sometimes shares his toys and then puts them in his mouth, or even mine. I was wondering if hepatitis C can be transmitted through saliva, like if we accidentally share spit?

No, you can't. Hepatitis C is a blood-borne pathogen, and saliva does not carry the virus in a way that can transmit it. Stop worrying about basic spitting or casual sharing of food.

Actually yaar, it is extremely rare unless there is direct blood mixed in the saliva, like if someone has bleeding gums. Normal saliva won't do anything, so don't panic unnecessarily.

Nope, you are totally safe from casual saliva contact! 😊 It only spreads through blood-to-blood contact. Keep smiling and stay positive!

Medical consensus states that Hepatitis C is not transmitted through saliva. However, if there is active oral bleeding in both individuals, a theoretical risk exists. For any medical doubts, consulting a physician is the best course of action.

I was also so worried about this last week when a colleague accidentally sneezed near my cup. Has anyone else felt this sudden panic? It is comforting to know it only spreads through blood, not saliva.
