Can you get hepatitis b through saliva?

My child has a habit of putting everything in their mouth. I was watching a health show, and it briefly mentioned hepatitis B. I'm concerned, can hepatitis B be transmitted directly through saliva, say if kids share toys?

I have PCOS and I always double check everything health-related because our bodies are sensitive. While saliva has very low concentration of the virus, it is technically possible if there is an open cut or bleeding gum in the mouth. It is better not to share things if someone has active oral wounds.

Managing thyroid has taught me to rely on regular lab reports rather than assumptions. Hepatitis B is mostly blood-borne, but regular screening is best if you have any doubts. Do a proper test and follow up with a physician.

Saliva isn't the primary way it spreads unless there is blood mixed in it. Keep your general health and stamina up by brisk walking for 30 minutes daily. If your doctor allows, light cardio is great to keep your immune system strong.

Ofo, if it spread easily through saliva, half of us street food lovers sharing kulfi and golgappe would be in trouble! Jokes apart, it is mostly spread through blood, not spitting or sharing normal bites. Keep enjoying food but maintain basic hygiene.

It is highly unlikely to get it through normal saliva unless blood is present. Try not to stress too much.

Actually yaar, it mostly spreads through blood-to-blood contact or intimate physical relations. Normal saliva transfer or sharing a glass won't do it. Just chill and don't read too much Google trash.

I literally spend hours worrying about these exact questions on medical forums. From what I read, simple kissing or saliva doesn't transmit it unless there are bleeding sores. Still, I totally get why you are asking, just get a quick checkup to calm your mind.
