Can you get gum disease from kissing?

My friend told me that gum disease can be contagious, and you can catch it from kissing someone. I'm a bit worried now. Is it true that you can get gum disease just from kissing?

Beta, hygiene is very important in everything. If you rinse your mouth with warm salt water daily and brush twice, you can prevent many infections. But if your partner has bad breath or bleeding gums, they must see a doctor first.

Yes, actually! I got severe gingivitis because my partner had untreated gum infection, and the bad bacteria got transferred. My dentist confirmed that saliva can pass those harmful bacteria, so both partners need to maintain oral hygiene.

Saliva transfer does exchange millions of bacteria, including the ones that cause periodontal issues. I keep track of my dental hygiene just like my workouts. Using an antibacterial mouthwash daily is a great preventive step.

I ignored my bleeding gums for a year thinking it's normal, and ended up passing the infection to my husband too. Don't make the same mistake. Get a professional scaling done before the infection worsens.

Haan na, it sounds strange but bad bacteria can easily travel through saliva, ho na. Just make sure both of you brush properly and maybe avoid sharing drinks too if someone has a toothache.

It was so embarrassing for me when I realized my oral issues were affecting my relationship. It made me so anxious to even get close to my partner. Please don't feel bad, just get basic treatment done and it gets completely sorted.
