Can you get fever blisters without having herpes?

My friend recently got a 'fever blister' on her lip, but she was very clear that she doesn't have herpes. I was under the impression that they were always linked. Is it actually possible to get fever blisters without having herpes?

Yes, many times they are just regular mouth ulcers or canker sores caused by stress, stomach upset, or accidental biting. You don't need to worry too much.

Our bodies sometimes react to extreme weather or internal heat by developing these sores. Keep your thoughts peaceful, drink water, and let the body find its natural balance.

I was also super paranoid about this and spent hours reading online! But actually, stomach infections or even low vitamin B12 can cause lookalike blisters. Please consult a doctor so you can sleep peacefully.

In my experience, standard ulcers caused by acidity are often confused with fever blisters. Doing mild yoga and consuming cool foods like cucumber and coconut water clears them up quickly.

I get these little white bumps on my gums whenever I am super stressed about my exams or have had too much spicy food. They are just regular ulcers, not herpes. Don't worry at all!

Yes, standard canker sores look exactly like fever blisters but are not caused by herpes. They are totally harmless.

Totally agree, most mouth blisters we Indians get are due to stomach heat or vitamin deficiency. Taking a B-complex capsule usually works.

Honestly, if I don't sleep for two days, my mouth gets filled with these sores. It's just my body screaming for a bed, not herpes. Go sleep, everything will look better.

Bro, I get these when my stomach is totally upset or after drinking too much tea in winter. It’s just normal heat bumps. Just use a gel like Zytee, no need to panic.

To be precise, true fever blisters or cold sores are caused by HSV-1. However, aphthous ulcers inside the mouth look very similar and have nothing to do with herpes. Keep them clean and they'll go.
