Can you get eczema in your armpits?

Since a few days, I've had this persistent itch and some redness under my arms, especially when I sweat a lot after playing cricket. I thought it might be just a rash, but it's not going away easily. Can eczema also show up in places like armpits?

Yes, armpit eczema is quite common because the skin folds there are sensitive and subject to constant friction and sweat. My dermatologist explained that deodorants containing alcohol or artificial fragrances are the most common triggers. She advised me to switch to fragrance-free, roll-on moisturizers and wear loose cotton clothes.

Bro, I got this super itchy, red rash in my underarms last summer and thought it was just a sweat rash. Turns out it was eczema triggered by a cheap deodorant spray I bought. I stopped using sprays completely, switched to simple coconut oil for dry patches, and it cleared up in a week.

Underarm eczema is extremely annoying, especially when you have to wear formal office shirts all day. Don't let it linger because friction makes it worse. Take a quick virtual consultation with a dermatologist, get a mild hydrocortisone cream if they recommend it, and switch to loose-fitting outfits for a few days.

Dealing with any skin inflammation in sensitive areas like the armpits can be very uncomfortable. Just like I keep my blood pressure in check through daily walks and low-salt food, skin health requires maintaining proper hygiene and avoiding harsh chemical soaps. Do consult your doctor if the itching persists.

I completely panicked when I first saw dark, red, peeling skin in my armpits and immediately thought of the worst skin infections. But my family doctor calmed me down and said it is just contact eczema from my shaving foam. Once I changed my shaving routine, the skin became perfectly normal again.
