Can you get cirrhosis of the liver without drinking?

My uncle had liver issues, and it made me think about liver health in general. I've heard cirrhosis is often linked to alcohol. Can someone actually get cirrhosis of the liver without drinking any alcohol?

Yes, from what I have read during my own health struggles, fatty liver issues can sometimes lead to serious damage even if you don't drink. I have to be very careful with my diet because of PCOS too. It is best to consult a specialist to understand your liver reports properly.

Arey, nowadays even if you eat just oil and sweets without touching a drop of liquor, your liver behaves like you drink every night! Our modern lifestyle is the culprit, na. Time to say goodbye to samosas and get a checkup done.

Actually yes, I was diagnosed with early-stage NASH which can lead to cirrhosis, and I am a strict teetotaler. My doctor put me on a strict low-carb diet and some lifestyle changes, and my liver enzymes are finally back to normal now. It's totally possible so get tested.

Yes, absolutely. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) can definitely lead to cirrhosis over time.

My uncle had this issue and we were shocked because he never touched alcohol in his life. He developed severe complications because we ignored the early signs of fatty liver. Please don't ignore this, get a proper LFT and fibroscan done by a gastroenterologist.
