Can you get cavities filled while pregnant?

My dentist suggested getting a few cavities filled soon, but I am in my first trimester of pregnancy. I'm a bit hesitant about any dental procedures right now. Is it safe to get cavities filled while pregnant?

Beta, there is no need to worry at all. I got two of my teeth filled when I was expecting my daughter thirty years ago, and she is perfectly healthy. Modern dentists are even more advanced now, so please get your teeth treated instead of bearing the pain.

Do not listen to random home remedy advice online about curing tooth decay naturally during pregnancy. Dental infections can lead to complications if left untreated. Consult your gynecologist first for a clearance note, and then visit a certified dentist to get the cavity filled safely.

Yes, getting cavities filled during pregnancy is considered safe. It is usually recommended to do it during the second trimester.

Yes, you absolutely can! Getting dental work done is safe, especially in your second trimester. Just make sure to tell your dentist so they can keep you comfy and use safe materials. Take care of your beautiful smile! 😊

I totally get it, you must be so worried about any small medical procedure affecting your baby right now. But keeping a tooth infection can actually be more stressful for your body. The second trimester is usually the sweet spot for these treatments, so talk to your doctor and stay relaxed.

I panicked completely when my molar chipped and started decaying in my fifth month of pregnancy. I thought I'd have to wait until delivery, but my doctor cleared it instantly. The filling was done quickly with a double lead apron for the X-ray, and everything was perfectly normal.

Don't worry, the dentist isn't going to disrupt the baby! It's actually a great excuse to lie down and get pampered for an hour. Just let them know you are pregnant so they don't give you any heavy medication or unnecessary X-rays.
