Can you get breast cancer while breast feeding?

I'm currently breastfeeding my 8-month-old baby, and I just noticed a tender lump in my breast. I thought it might be a clogged milk duct, but now I'm worried. Can you get breast cancer while breast feeding?

Actually, yes, you can. My wife's health tracking app has a maternal care section that highlights how lactating mothers often mistake warning signs for clogged milk ducts. Definitely keep tracking any changes.

Hey, it is rare but it definitely can happen. Don't feel anxious, but do notice if a lump doesn't go away even after feeding or pumping. A quick visit to your doctor will clear your mind completely.

My daughter faced a similar issue where she felt a hard lump while feeding her baby. We thought it was just milk block, but the doctor told us never to assume. Please get a mammogram or ultrasound done to be safe.

Actually yaar, don't think breastfeeding makes you 100% safe. My bhabhi had a scare and the doctor told us that people ignore lumps thinking it is just 'doodh jam gaya'. Better to consult a doc and be sure.

I was researching this for my sister recently. It turns out breastfeeding actually reduces the risk overall, but you can still get it during this phase. It's often harder to diagnose because the breasts are already lumpy.
