Can you get asthma as an adult?

I've started experiencing shortness of breath and coughing, especially when the pollution levels are high. I never had breathing issues before. Can you actually get asthma as an adult, even if you didn't have it as a child?

It can happen at any age, especially with modern lifestyle and dust. Along with whatever medicine your doctor gives, try drinking warm ginger tea in the morning to soothe your airway.

Haan bilkul, adult-onset asthma is very common, na. Mujhe khud 32 ki age mein starting hui thi jab pollution zyada badh gaya tha. Doctor se consult karo, easily manage ho jata hai.

I didn't know adults could get it too. Actually, I have been coughing a lot at night lately. Does adult asthma start with a dry cough or is there always wheezing?

Yes, adult asthma is real. Managing hormone issues myself, I know how body changes can trigger new symptoms. Please get a proper lung checkup done instead of guessing.

Actually, yes yaar. I developed it at 28 due to local construction dust. I thought it was just a normal allergy, but the doc confirmed it is adult asthma. It's totally fine now with proper meds.

It is so frustrating to suddenly get diagnosed as an adult. I felt so weak and helpless when it happened to me, but please know you are not alone and it gets much easier once you accept it.

Yes, adult-onset asthma is a recognized medical condition. However, sudden breathing trouble can also indicate heart issues, so please get evaluated by a physician immediately for a safe diagnosis.
