Can you get arthritis in your jaw?

Sometimes, when I chew or yawn, my jaw makes a clicking sound and feels quite sore. My grandmother has arthritis, and I was wondering if this joint can also get affected. Can you get arthritis in your jaw?

Haan bhai, jaw joint (TMJ) arthritis is very real. If it clicks or hurts while chewing, don't ignore it. Go and see a maxillofacial specialist or a dentist who knows about jaw joints.

I totally get it, having jaw pain makes eating and even talking so difficult and frustrating. Yes, arthritis can happen in the jaw joint. Please take soft foods for now and consult a specialist soon.

Yes, you can get arthritis in the jaw. While you get it checked by a doctor, try doing gentle neck and shoulder stretches, as stress and muscle tension in those areas can often worsen jaw pain.

As if back pain wasn't enough, now jaw arthritis is also a thing! But jokes aside, yes, it can happen. If chewing your favorite paneer tikka hurts, it is definitely time to visit the doctor.

I suffered from TMJ arthritis for two years. My biggest tip is to avoid chewing gum, eat soft foods, and use warm compresses on the side of your face. Do get a night guard made by your dentist to stop grinding.

Yes, jaw arthritis is possible. I use my health tracker to log my stress levels, as teeth clenching during high stress often aggravates jaw joint pain. Try some relaxation techniques along with medical advice.

Yes, my doctor explained that the temporomandibular joint can get osteoarthritis from wear and tear or rheumatoid arthritis. He recommended getting an MRI or dental X-ray to check the joint space.
