Can you get arthritis in your coccyx?

For the past few months, I've been having this dull ache in my tailbone, especially after sitting for long. My physio mentioned it could be related to some wear and tear. Can arthritis happen in that area, actually?

Yes, apparently it can happen. I have this awful pain at the base of my spine whenever I sit down and I am so scared it is coccyx arthritis. Has anyone else here dealt with this kind of tailbone pain?

In my experience, yes, you can. I had a fall down the stairs years ago and later developed arthritis in my tailbone. Doing gentle pelvic floor stretches and using hot water bags has been my personal way of managing it.

Yes, tailbone arthritis is possible. Along with medical treatment, focus on eating calcium-rich vegetarian foods like paneer, ragi, and sesame seeds to strengthen your bones and joints naturally.

Yes, the tailbone area can suffer from arthritis. Keep your posture upright, stay calm, and don't stress. With proper care and gentle movement, the pain will surely reduce.

I had severe tailbone joint inflammation last year. My doctor advised using a U-shaped coccyx cushion whenever sitting, and it completely changed my life. Avoid sitting on hard surfaces at all costs.

Yes, coccyx arthritis is a real condition. Tailbone pain can also be due to nerve compression or cysts, so please get an MRI or X-ray done under a doctor's guidance to find the exact reason.

Yes, arthritis can affect the small joints in the coccyx region. While a cushion can give temporary comfort, getting a proper diagnosis and treatment plan from an orthopedic specialist is the best course of action.

Sitting on my office chair for 12 hours a day makes my tailbone feel like it is breaking anyway! But yes, you can actually get arthritis there. Definitely get a comfortable seat cushion before your back quits on you.
