Can you get arthritis in one finger only?

Recently, only one of my fingers has been consistently stiff and painful, especially in the mornings. The rest of my hands and other joints feel perfectly fine. I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to develop arthritis in just one finger and no other joints.

I panicked so much when only my left pinky finger started swelling, thinking it was some major disease. Turns out it was just mild osteoarthritis from an old sprain. It is very common and manageable, so don't panic.

Yes, it is possible. I ignored stiffness in my right thumb for months, and now I struggle to write properly. Please get a proper doctor's opinion before it affects your daily work.

Yes, my sister had this in her index finger. Our elders suggested some herbal oils, but we went to an orthopedist who gave us the right exercises. I suggest you consult a specialist first.

It can happen in just one finger, especially if injured before. Before going for expensive MRI scans, just get a basic X-ray of that finger first as it costs much less and usually tells the whole story.

Honestly, with my bad sleep schedule, my whole body aches, but yes, you can get it in just one finger. At least you only have to worry about pampering one finger instead of the whole hand!

Yes, single joint arthritis is a thing. I log my hand fatigue on my health app, and it really helps track if the pain is constant. Try tracking your symptoms for a week and show it to a doctor.
