Can you get a uti from kidney stones?

I was recently diagnosed with kidney stones, and coincidentally, I also had a urinary tract infection a few weeks before. My doctor said they might be connected, but I wanted to understand better. Is it common to get a UTI if you have kidney stones?

As a diabetic, I am highly prone to infections, and my doctor warned me that kidney stones make it even worse. When a stone blocks the urine path, bacteria multiply quickly. You must keep your blood sugar stable and seek immediate medical help for this.

I dealt with this double nightmare of stones and a UTI last year. The stagnation of urine due to the stone is what triggers the infection. My advice is to get a urine culture done immediately so the doctor can prescribe the right antibiotic.

When I had a kidney stone, I started feeling a burning sensation and got a fever. It turned out to be a UTI caused by the stone obstructing the tract. The doctor treated my infection first before addressing the stone.

I have helped many people in this community with similar queries. Yes, kidney stones can scratch the urinary tract and block urine, creating a perfect environment for a UTI. Please drink plenty of water and do not delay seeing a doctor.

Don't stress too much, but yes, they are linked. When a stone blocks your urine flow, it causes a buildup where bacteria can grow. Just make an appointment with your doctor today so they can help you manage both issues safely.

Yes, kidney stones can harbor bacteria and block urine flow, which is a classic trigger for a UTI. You will likely need a round of antibiotics to clear the infection along with treating the stone itself. Keep yourself well hydrated.

Drinking coconut water and barley water can help flush out the system and soothe irritation. However, if the kidney stone is causing a full-blown UTI, home remedies won't be enough. You must consult a doctor for proper treatment.

At 52, my body keeps finding new ways to surprise me, and kidney stones with a UTI was last year's special package. The stone blocks the exit, and the bacteria decide to throw a party. Go to a doctor and get it cleared up.

Stones can definitely act as a breeding ground for bacteria if they obstruct the normal flow of urine. While drinking water helps, a proper diagnosis via ultrasound and urine tests by a qualified urologist is the safest way forward.

Oh, this sounds incredibly painful and worrying! Yes, kidney stones can definitely lead to UTIs, and it can get serious if the infection spreads upward. Please don't ignore any chills or fever, and get to a clinic as soon as possible.
