Can you get a tb test while pregnant?

We are planning to move abroad soon, and for the visa process, I need to get a TB test done. I'm currently pregnant and worried if this test, whatever form it is, is safe for me and my unborn child. Can one safely undergo a TB test during pregnancy?

The doctors at the hospital I go to told me that both the skin test and the blood test for TB are completely safe during pregnancy. However, you should still consult your obstetrician first to confirm which test is best for you.

My wife had to undergo a TB blood test during her pregnancy because of a routine screening at her clinic. The doctors assured us it was safe, and the procedure went smoothly without any issues for her or the baby.

I had a TB scare during my pregnancy last year and was terrified. My doctor did the skin test and explained that it is safe and crucial to catch TB early if there is a risk. Thankfully, everything turned out fine.

Haan na, we feel so worried about any test when we are pregnant. But my doctor said TB tests are safe and necessary if you have been exposed. Just discuss it openly with your gynecologist to feel relaxed.

Please do not delay if you have any symptoms or have been exposed to TB. I once ignored a persistent cough and it became quite serious. Getting tested during pregnancy is safe and far better than letting an infection go untreated.

My doctor explained that the tuberculin skin test is safe during pregnancy because the purified protein derivative used does not harm the fetus. If a blood test is preferred, that is also perfectly safe. Always consult your obstetrician first.

Standard clinical guidelines on my health tracker apps show that TB skin tests are safe during pregnancy. It doesn't use live bacteria, so there is no risk to the fetus. Still, always keep your doctor in the loop.

I kept up with my light prenatal yoga and walking throughout my pregnancy. When I had to get a routine TB test, my doctor allowed it without any worry, saying it wouldn't affect my activity levels or the pregnancy.

As someone who works in healthcare, I can assure you that both the TB skin test (TST) and blood tests are considered safe for pregnant women. Untreated TB poses a much higher risk to you and the baby than the test itself.
