Can you get a tb shot while pregnant?

My doctor advised me to get a TB shot, but I'm currently in my second trimester of pregnancy. I'm a bit worried about the safety of taking any vaccine while expecting a baby. Is it generally considered safe to get a TB shot during pregnancy?

When I was pregnant, my doctor advised against getting the BCG vaccine because it contains a live bacteria strain. They told me it is usually postponed until after the delivery. Always check with your gynecologist first before taking any such steps.

Actually yaar, the TB vaccine is generally not recommended during pregnancy because it is a live vaccine. Doctors usually avoid giving live vaccines to pregnant women to keep the baby safe. You should definitely consult your doc for the right advice.

During pregnancy, we must protect the body from any intense external strains. Standard medical practice usually avoids the TB vaccine during these nine months. Please keep your health calm, focus on gentle deep breathing, and let your doctor take the final decision.

Please do not ignore vaccination guidelines or take any decisions without checking. I once delayed a simple test during my wife's illness and regretted it. If there is a high risk of TB exposure, go straight to your obstetrician and discuss the safest option.

Better to let your baby grow in peace inside without giving them a vaccine party so early! Most doctors will tell you to skip the TB shot for now. Just focus on eating good food and let the doctor handle the medical calendar.

I am also quite anxious about vaccines during my pregnancy. Has anyone else been advised by their doctor to get a TB shot, or is it always avoided? It is so confusing with all the different opinions, I hope my doctor gives a clear answer.

I was looking this up for a family member and found that the BCG vaccine is typically not given to pregnant women unless they are at an extremely high, unavoidable risk of exposure. Even then, the safety isn't fully established, so doctors usually wait.
