Can you get a hepatitis b shot while pregnant?

My gynaecologist suggested I get a Hepatitis B shot during my current pregnancy. I am a bit worried if it is safe for the baby and for me during this time. Can one actually take this vaccine while expecting?

Yes, you absolutely can and should if you are at risk. It is an inactive vaccine, so it doesn't harm the baby. Just talk to your gynac and they will schedule it for you without any issues.

During my pregnancy, I had to undergo some routine tests and my doctor advised me to complete my Hep B vaccine cycle. It was completely smooth, no stress at all. Just keep your mind calm with deep breathing and trust the process.

Don't worry, yes, it's safe to get it. My cousin got her vaccine shots during her second trimester and both she and her baby are healthy. Just consult your doctor first.

My wife actually just finished her pregnancy last month and she got the Hep B vaccine in her fifth month. The doctor said protecting her is key because it protects the baby too. No side effects except a tiny bit of soreness in the arm.

Yes dear, you can. Doctors actually recommend it if you are in a high-risk category, like working in healthcare or if your partner has it. Just make sure you inform your hospital staff about your vaccination history.

Please do not make decisions on vaccines based on online forums or what we say here. Pregnancy is a sensitive time. Take your file and ask your gynecologist directly if you need this vaccine right now.

Beta, in our times we didn't have so many vaccines, but now medical science has improved a lot. My daughter-in-law had all her vaccinations including Hepatitis B on time while she was pregnant. Both my grandchildren are perfectly active and fine, so go ahead without fear.

I was looking this up online recently because my sister is expecting. Most medical sites and docs say it's completely safe since it is not a live vaccine. Better to confirm with your own obstetrician during the next scan checkup.
