Can you get a fever with thrush?

My baby has white patches in her mouth, and the doctor said it's thrush. She's also been a bit cranky and feels warm to the touch. Can thrush cause a fever in babies?

I totally panicked when my baby got oral thrush and developed a mild fever, thinking it was some big infection. But the pediatrician reassured me that it is quite common, and treating the thrush with prescribed drops cleared the fever too. Don't worry, just get the right anti-fungal gel from your doctor.

Actually, thrush itself is just a fungal thing so it doesn't usually cause a fever. But if you have a fever, it might mean there is another underlying infection or your immunity is down. Better check with a doctor to find out what is actually causing the fever.

Usually, thrush doesn't cause a fever directly. If you have both, it is best to consult a doctor to see if there is another infection.

Honestly, thrush usually just causes that annoying white coating and soreness in the mouth, not a fever. If you are running a temperature, your body might be fighting off something else alongside it. Go get it checked by a doc instead of guessing online.

Ha bhai, mere chhote bete ko jab muh mein chhale (thrush) hue the tab use halka bukhar bhi tha. Woh thik se dudh bhi nahi pi pa raha tha. Doctor sahab ne ek dawai di thi lagane ke liye, usse jaldi hi aaram mil gaya tha.

Normally, oral thrush is a localized fungal infection and doesn't trigger a fever. However, if the thrush has spread down the throat or if the immune system is weak, a fever can occur. I highly recommend visiting your family physician to get a proper diagnosis and the right anti-fungal treatment.

Don't go by what people say on forums about treating thrush or fever at home. If you have a fungal infection like thrush and a fever at the same time, it is a clear sign you need to see a medical professional. Self-treating with home remedies can make fungal infections worse.
