Can you get a fever from stress?

My workload has been immense lately, and I'm under a lot of stress. I've noticed that sometimes when I'm really stressed, I feel like I'm coming down with a fever, even though I don't feel sick otherwise. Is stress linked to body temperature?

Look, stress can absolutely mess with your physical health. When you take too much tension, your body's immunity drops and you can easily catch a virus that leads to fever. Stop overthinking, take a deep breath, and go see a doctor if the fever doesn't go away.

This is so relatable right now. I have been under extreme work pressure this week and suddenly I feel so hot and feverish. Has anyone else experienced a physical fever just from emotional stress? I'm starting to get worried.

In my long career, I have seen many young people run temperatures during exams or big job interviews. It is just the mind's pressure reflecting on the physical body. Don't worry, child; take a warm bath, rest well, and remember that no stress is worth your health.

Yes, there is actually a medical term called 'psychogenic fever' where high stress or emotional events can cause the body temperature to rise. It's your nervous system reacting. Try to drink some warm chamomile tea, practice deep breathing, and get some quiet rest.
